Founded in 1959 by Bruno and Peter Braun, in Stuttgart

• 1963 moved to larger facility at Fellbach

• 1998 Albrecht and Bernhard Braun are Chief Executives.

Activities

Since its foundation, electronic speed measurement has been the main field of Braun GmbH, listing numerous progressive solutions (in 1959 production of the world’s first transistorized tachometer). Continuous development of product line for speed and related variables. Now covering the entire field of speed measurement, with state-of-the-art solutions, with a comprehensive range of Sensors, Meters, Alarms, Monitoring Systems.

Product Line

Speed Sensors using all functional principles and designs. Intrinsically safe Ex- versions for application in hazardous areas. Single and multiple channel instruments, meters and systems, in any required design. Specializing in redundant monitoring systems for overspeed protection, with high degree of safety.

Applications

Power plants, chemical and petrochemical industry, paper and textile mills, food processing, printing and packaging, test facilities.
Customers are OEMs and end-users in Europe and Overseas.

ISO 9001 for Total Quality Management, audited and issued by TÜV.
ATEX EExia for intrinsic safety components, audited and issued by TÜV, 
CE-Conformity and EMI inspected and certified by EMV Laboratory,
Safety Level SIL3 for E16 overspeed protecting systems according to IEC 61508, tested and approved by TÜV.
