Outstanding characteristics

Specifications of  Sensor Head

Set-up of Sensor
Direct sensor front at the marked target.
Distance up to 0.5 m (dependent on reflection and contrast at target). Mount the sensor by its cylindrical threaded rear section.

Marking the target

A strong contrast to the surface should be provided. We recommend a 1 cm piece of our reflecting tape U1A006. 

Output Signal
Square wave shaped, with adjustable pulse length down to 25 µsec. Strong p/p output to loads versus zero and + supply.  Adequate for  transmission up to 100 meters distance. Level ≈ supply voltage, not dependent on speed and scanning distance (within specs).

Supply
12 volts / 50 ma. Range 10 ... 30 volts DC. Compliant with the sensor supply output of our units for permanent installation.

Connection
3 leads technique. Shielded cable recommended for transmission > 2 m.
Versions available with hardwired cable of 2 meters, or with plug- in socket. Ready made cables available with length to order.

Installation
Mounting thread with size M30x1,5 and 60 mm length.

A1S40N for version with 2 m firmly attached cable.

Specifications of the Fibre OpticExtension

Application
With high ambient temperature at the target (up to 300 °C), for insulation against high tension or protection against other hostile environments, or detection under (clear) liquids. For narrow gap approach to the target.

Design
Coated fibre optic cable, flexible. Coat as per code.
Internally one lead for the emitted light, one lead for the reflection received. Target end encapsulated. Sensor end prepared for connection.
Length to order. Diameter approx. 7 mm.  

Connection to the Sensor Head
Simply remove front cap of sensor, insert the prepared extension socket, and secure by the sensor front cap. Point extension tip at the target.

Sensing gap
Up to 50 mm with a strong mark on the target. Decreases with very long extensions.

Length up to max 6 meters, by steps of 0.5 meters.
